In bed with:

I go deep with intriguing humans, artists, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders every second Sunday ( From June 2 ). My guest & I have a duty to drop the facade & reveal our true self by having deep, powerful and completely vulnerable discussions that aim to guide, inspire and motivate YOU.

In Bed with : Elle Halliwell

ELLE HALLIWELL | Author, Journalist, Speaker, Health Coach

In May 2016, Elle was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Two days later, she discovered she was pregnant. In this episode of In Bed With: Elle opens up about fiding her purpose after diagnosis. With incredible strength and humility, Elle explains how facing the concept of death gave her a new perspective on life and coming to terms with how she wants to ultimately be remembered. She explores reconnecting with her love of nature and art, and everything her inner child would want her to do more of. Elle and I discuss our experiences working on TV while suffering from anxiety and how important it is for women to prioritise their own health, beyond simply skin deep.

RJ says:

The comment about anxiety/future and depression/past really made me think. I spend too much time worrying about both! I am getting better about it though! Meditating calms my whirling thoughts. And keeping a gratitude journal, as you suggested in an episode of Dear Carissa, is something I am finding so helpful. Starting my day with grateful, positive thoughts rather than dreadful, worrying thoughts.
I thought this was a great interview, some very thought-provoking topics. I am looking forward to seeing people’s comments on this video.

    Carissa Walford says:

You are my top student ha! It’s really cool when you start noticing the change in your thought patterns once you’ve created that habit with the gratitude journal. I was the same, living in the past at times & worrying about the future. It’s an exhausting place to be in, but meditation was the big turning point for me. It saved me in so many ways. I’m so happy you’re finding these episodes so helpful 🙌🏼 Thank you for sharing your progress x

Carly Franklin says:

I really connected with this interview. I can’t even begin to imagine being told what she was told only a few days before finding out you are pregnant. Elle you are an inspiration to all and I love that you took a ( HUGE ) risk against what a doctor had told you.
Thanks Carissa for another raw interview. So refreshing to see an honest conversation being had. Such great role models for our kids xxxxxxxx

Jess says:

Thank you for being so honest about anxiety and that you didn’t know you had it until later down the track.
Would you consider talking at high schools Carissa? You would be so good. So many young teenagers are dealing with anxiety and are too scared to speak up! 😢
